Make a child-friendly Sudoku worksheet
This preset starts with two Easy puzzles per page, large numbers, and a separate solution sheet. Change any setting to match the learner.
Start with readable, achievable puzzles
Easy 9×9 Sudoku works well for children who understand rows, columns, and 3×3 boxes. Large cells leave room for pencil marks and corrections.
- Use one puzzle per page for a first lesson or younger writers.
- Keep solutions on a separate page so adults can offer hints without revealing the board.
- Move to Medium only after the learner can explain why a digit belongs in a cell.
Turn the sheet into a short activity
Ask the learner to find one missing digit at a time and say which row, column, or box proves the move. Accuracy and explanation matter more than speed.
Kids printable Sudoku FAQ
What age is printable Sudoku suitable for?+
Readiness matters more than age. A child who can recognize digits 1–9 and check rows, columns, and boxes can begin with an Easy grid and adult guidance.
Should children use a 4×4 grid first?+
A 4×4 grid can introduce the idea, but many children can learn directly on a spacious Easy 9×9 puzzle when the rules are demonstrated one step at a time.
Are answer sheets included?+
Yes. This preset includes solutions on separate pages, and you can turn them off in the settings.
